Shiny New Web Design for Caleigh's Corner

On Friday I launched a brand new web design for Caleigh' If you read this blog through email or an RSS reader I encourage you to click through and check out what's new. Also, please make sure your bookmarks are set to is no longer an accessible way to reach this site.

After six years of hosting and blogging through Blogger, I decided a change was needed. After looking around I discovered that I wanted an all-in-one type of website. Somewhere that I could continue to write about Caleigh, what works for her and what doesn't, and anything else that might come up. I also wanted to be able to have an online portfolio of my artwork. Just having those two things under one site would be great, but then add the ability to have a shop or a place to occasionally sell pieces as they come up would be wonderful. So, I was on the hunt.

A couple of weeks ago, a friend told me about Squarespace, one of those all-in-one web interfaces that I wanted. I signed up for a free trial and spent forever tweaking the thing. All those years of messing with Blogger HTML paid off. I know just enough web design to frustrate me to no end, but I made it through and the results are exactly what I wanted. I love the clean modern design of websites right now and I think I was able to achieve that with the Squarespace interface.

What I'm most excited about is the possibility of Caleigh's Corner as a type of brand. Consistent across all platforms working together. I want to grow this platform, reach more people and influence those that may need it. I remember early on in Caleigh's life reading about older children and now those blogs lie silent or have disappeared all together. I don't want that to happen here.

For a few years now, I hadn't looked at the stats for this blog. It just wasn't necessary to what I was doing at the time. When I was researching for this new platform, I discovered that Caleigh's Corner is in the mid-range of "mommy bloggers" with anywhere from 13,000-14,000 page views a month.  This was a huge and pleasant surprise. The potential for that many views a month would be a wonderful thing for someone interested in advertising with our niche of readers. The potential is there.

Sponsorships and advertisements naturally go with a brand. You can find a whole page devoted to PR & Media in the upper navigation bar that talks more in detail about the potential. I also want to stay true to our readers by being very forthcoming with information and not straying from what is and will always be Caleigh's story.  It will always be the truth here.

There are some fun features that Caleigh's Corner didn't have before that it has now. There are now ways to share and like specific posts. This is located just at the end of each post next to the comments section.

Under the links section, located above, there are all of my favorite blogs, social media links, archives, a search feature and links to popular posts and videos.

Instead of hunting down my email address there is now a contact form, also located above, that you can fill out with any questions or comments you may have.

You can check out my art portfolio and shop. I'll be posting about anything new that may pop up in each.

I'm excited about the new design and this improved platform. It has inspired me to write and photograph on a more regular basis. I'm excited about this new direction. Thank you to everyone that continues to read about Caleigh and our family. Your support continues to lift us.
